I always found Mastodon too ugly and too nerdy. I’ve been trying Bluesky for a fortnight now, which feels like Twitter in the early years. But I’m afraid that the destructive mechanisms of social media will do their work there, too, as soon as the platform is finally technically developed (for example, there are no hashtags yet, which is very pleasant because no mobs can form over them). Micro.blog is beautiful and cleverly constructed, but I sometimes miss my German-speaking community, people I have known online for many years.
